Smart is Innovate UK’s ‘open grant funding program. Innovate the UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, is investing up to £25 million in the best game-changing and commercially viable innovative or disruptive ideas. All proposals must be business-focused. It has allocated up to £25 million to fund innovation projects in this competition.

European Innovation Council Accelerator
The European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator supports individual Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), in particular, Startups and spinout companies to develop and scale up game-changing innovations. In some cases, small mid-caps (up to 500 employees) are supported.

Call For Applications: African Union Commission and USDA’s Scientific Exchanges Program
The Scientific Exchanges Program (SEP) supports USDA’s agricultural research goals of promoting collaborative programs among agricultural professionals of eligible countries, agricultural professionals of the United States, the international agricultural research system, and U.S. entities conducting research. Women in Innovation Awards 2021/22 (UK Research and Innovation)
Innovate the UK, as part of UK Research and Innovation, is offering at least 20 Women in Innovation Awards to female entrepreneurs across the UK. The winners will receive a £50,000 grant and a bespoke package of mentoring, coaching, and business support. The aim of this competition is to find women with exciting, innovative ideas and ambitious plans that will inspire others. The awards are for female founders, co-founders, or senior decision-makers working in businesses that have been operating for at least one year.

The Ibrahim Leadership Fellowships 2022
The Mo Ibrahim Leadership Fellowship Programme is a selective Fellowship that prepares the next generation of outstanding African leaders by providing them with unique work opportunities at the most senior level of prominent African institutions or multilateral organizations, whose mandate is to improve the economic and social prospects of Africa. Each year three Fellows have an opportunity to work in the executive offices of the AfDB (Abidjan), ECA (Addis Ababa), or the ITC (Geneva), with a stipend of $100,000.

UNCDF COVID 19 Support Platform for Women’s Economic Empowerment
UNCDF’s COVID-19 platform project to support women’s economic empowerment in Mali was set up as part of the WEE Index (Women’s Economic Empowerment Index), in partnership with UNDP. It aims to support the national COVID and post COVID response plan in Mali through local development by strengthening the resilience of vulnerable groups such as SMEs, Cooperative, and Municipalities through PPP (Public-Private Partnership) projects who are involved in women’s economic empowerment.
