HETV Start a Career in Set Decoration and Props

ScreenSkills is inviting professionals to create a new training program for the UK’s high-end TV industry. This program, supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund, aims to address skill gaps and foster a more inclusive workforce. The goal is to train 30 individuals interested in set decoration and props, particularly those outside the industry or transitioning from other roles. After the training, ScreenSkills plans to secure funded placements for 15 participants on high-end TV productions.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the HETV Start a Career in Set Decoration and Props are:

Participant Base: The program seeks a minimum of 30 participants from the UK, split evenly between career changers and new entrants.
Diversity Goals: The program aims for at least 50% of participants to be based outside London, 20% from minority ethnic groups, 50% women, 10% with disabilities, and 10% identifying as LGBT.
Inclusivity Measures: ScreenSkills considers factors beyond legal diversity requirements, such as employment status, return to work after leave, geographical location, and socio-economic background.
Diverse Talent Access: Trainers and companies must meet diversity requirements to provide access to diverse crew and talent.
Accountability: Failure to meet diversity targets could risk funding loss unless robust evidence is provided for the shortfall.
Data Tracking: Participants must set up a ScreenSkills profile and complete their diversity data before training commences.
