The AI Solutions to Develop AI Competencies in Key Sectors program invites UK-registered organisations to apply for funding of up to £2 million. Innovate UK, through the BridgeAI initiative, aims to create responsible and ethical AI solutions to support competency development in sectors such as construction, transport and logistics, creative industries, and agriculture and food processing. Projects should accelerate AI learning, align with industry standards, support workforce upskilling or reskilling, and demonstrate measurable learning outcomes. This competition encourages diversity, equality, and inclusion in AI-focused learning journeys and supports learner personas such as AI workers, professionals, and leaders. Funded projects must focus on feasibility studies, meet R&D requirements, and avoid reliance on domestic usage or export conditions. By using a portfolio approach, the program aims to fund diverse projects across sectors and regions.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for AI solutions to develop AI competencies are:

Applicants must be UK-registered organisations.
Projects must focus on AI competency in one of the key sectors: construction, transport, creative industries, agriculture, and food processing.
Proposals must align with the AI Skills for Business Competency Framework.
The solution should target AI Workers, Professionals, or Leaders.
All projects must support equality, diversity, and inclusion in learning.
Only feasibility projects requiring R&D will be funded.
Projects must avoid dependency on export performance or domestic input conditions.
