The CIF Youth Fellowship, launched in 2023, offers a one-year professional development program for young individuals aged 18-28 from Brazil, Ghana, India, Papua New Guinea, and Türkiye. This initiative by the Climate Investment Funds (CIF) and six partner multilateral development banks (MDBs) provides hands-on experience in climate finance projects within the Fellows’ home countries. Fellows contribute to local climate solutions, gaining valuable skills in clean energy, climate resilience, social inclusion, and nature-based practices. The program offers tailored training in areas like just transitions, gender inclusion, and stakeholder engagement, alongside mentorship from industry experts. Additionally, Fellows join global youth networks, fostering connections with initiatives like YOUNGO and the United Nations Youth Office.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for 2025 CIF Youth Fellowship are:

Candidates must be aged 18-28 at the time of application.
Applicants must reside in Brazil, Ghana, India, Papua New Guinea, or Türkiye with valid work authorization.
Applicants must have or be pursuing an undergraduate degree.
They must show leadership in climate action with relevant prior experience.
Fluency in English and the local working language is mandatory.
Candidates must demonstrate an ability to work independently.
The program prioritizes diversity, including marginalized groups and Indigenous communities.
