The Amujae Initiative by the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Presidential Center for Women and Development aims to empower African women leaders to achieve the highest levels of public service. Each year, it selects 15 exceptional women already excelling in politics and public service. These participants receive transformative leadership training, world-class mentorship, and become part of a dynamic sisterhood of African leaders. The program connects them with former female Heads of State, global experts, and peers to sharpen their skills, expand their networks, and build a legacy of leadership. Candidates must be citizens of African nations, exhibit bold ambition, integrity, and have a strong commitment to their communities. The program values resilience, political expertise, and a proven track record of impact. Amujae Leaders gain tools to advance their careers, create meaningful change, and inspire others to follow their paths.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for Sisterhood of African Women Leaders are:

Must be a citizen of an African country.
Should demonstrate bold ambition to lead at the highest public levels.
Requires a proven track record of leadership and impactful achievements.
Must actively work to empower other women and uplift the community.
Should showcase patriotism and a commitment to their country’s future.
Integrity, ethics, and a clear sense of purpose are essential qualities.
Vision for change and readiness to step into top leadership within five years.
Must have significant political, civil, or institutional leadership experience.
Knowledge of political systems, elections, and power dynamics is vital.
A strong reputation for credibility and resilience is important.
