Washington Bridge Small Business Grant Program

The Washington Bridge Small Business Grant Program supports Rhode Island small businesses affected by the Washington Bridge’s closure and reconstruction. Grants of $500, $1,000, and $2,500 are available based on revenue loss from December 2023 to February 2024. Providence and East Providence administer their own grants, while Rhode Island Commerce handles others. Applications open on September 10, 2024, and close on October 8, 2024, at 5:00 pm.

Eligibility

1. Businesses must show a minimum $500 and 10% revenue loss due to the bridge reconstruction.
2. They must be physically located in Rhode Island and have gross receipts of $2 million or less.
3. They must not be owned by a national or regional franchise, permanently closed, or considering bankruptcy.
