NSW Regional Investment Activation Fund – Stream 2
NSW Regional Investment Activation Fund – Stream 2 is accepting an applications. This funding is designed to back projects that are important to a specific industry or area in regional NSW and need to be completed quickly. Projects could be chosen for financial support through the Regional Investment Activation Fund.

Eligibility
To qualify for funding through Stream 2 of the Regional Investment Activation Fund, you need to meet these requirements:
- You must have an Australian Business Number (ABN).
- Belong to one of the following categories:
- A registered Australian company.
- A company limited by guarantee.
- An organization acting as a trustee for a trust.
- An incorporated association or cooperative.
To apply, you need to:
- Be a registered organization under the Corporations (Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006.
- Have a GST registration.
- Show that you’re financially stable and can stay that way during the project.
- Either have $20 million in public liability insurance or be able to get it if you’re chosen for funding.
- Applicants need to contribute at least 50% of the project’s total cost in cash.
- If applying together, the main applicant must meet the requirements and the project should match the fund’s goals for Stream Two.
- Applicants can be from overseas, other states, or within metropolitan or regional NSW. International companies also need to fulfill all the mentioned criteria.

Eligible Project:
- To be considered for funding via Stream Two of the Regional Investment Activation Fund, your project needs to:
- Be situated in one of the 93 local areas in regional NSW, the Unincorporated Far West, or Lord Howe Island.
- Show that the project is either unique to regional NSW or would happen at the same time only with government support.
- Be operational by 30 May 2025, with a recommended COVID plan in case of pandemic-related delays.
- Create sustainable jobs and boost the success and innovation of businesses in key industries or important locations in regional NSW.
- Bring significant economic, social, or environmental benefits to a vital industry or area.
- When you sign contract, you need to have insurance that covers up to $20 million for any public-related accidents or issues.
- Obtain the required approvals to meet project timelines.
- Confirm your part of the funding (cash co-contribution).
- The project should either not fit the criteria for funding from other Australian or NSW Government programs,
- or it should need additional funding from the NSW Government to apply for support from another government or industry program.
- Projects in Greater Sydney (which includes the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, and Wollondilly), as well as in Newcastle or Wollongong Local Government Areas, cannot apply for this funding.
