Global Science Summit Programme 2024

The Global Science Summit Programme is a project that encourages scientific discoveries to tackle big health and sustainability problems. It focuses on issues like non-communicable diseases, infectious diseases, and climate change. The programme supports collaborations between different fields to come up with new solutions. These collaborations aim to combine different skills and perspectives to create innovative results. The goal is to address global challenges in a unique and effective way.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Global Science Summit Programme 2024 are:

  1. Collaboration: The programme supports 2-3 research groups working together. The teams must show international and interdisciplinary engagement.
  2. Applicant Requirements: Applicants must be established researchers employed at the institution listed in the proposal for the project’s duration.
  3. Institution Requirements: The institution must be able to accept and manage the grant. It can be any non-profit research organization.
  4. Industrial Partners: Collaboration with non-academic sectors is allowed, but they cannot receive direct funding.
  5. Submission Limit: The principal investigator can only submit one proposal per call. However, co-applicants can participate in multiple proposals.
  6. Proposal Submission: Proposals must be submitted via NORMA with all requested information. Proposals submitted by email or without a hosting letter will not be considered.
  7. Language: All applications and supporting materials must be in English.

The benefits of the Global Science Summit Programme 2024 are:

  1. Funding: The programme plans to allocate up to DKK 50 million (approximately USD 7.2 million) to the submitted proposals.
  2. Number of Proposals: The number of supported proposals will depend on their quality and proposed budget.
  3. Project Budget: Each project’s budget should not exceed DKK 7 million (approximately USD 1 million).
  4. Project Duration: Projects are expected to last between 1 and 3 years.
  5. Budget Details: For information on what can and cannot be funded and how to add the budget in the NORMA system, refer to section 3.4.
