EPA Green Chemistry Challenge Awards (United States)
The Green Chemistry Challenge Awards, sponsored by EPA and the American Chemical Society, recognize innovative chemical technologies that promote environmental and economic benefits. Since its inception, the awards have honored 144 technologies, reducing nearly one billion pounds of hazardous chemicals, saving over 20 billion gallons of water, and eliminating nearly eight billion pounds of carbon dioxide equivalents. The 2025 awards call for nominations by December 13, 2024, with a webinar on October 9, 2024.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for EPA Green Chemistry Challenge Awards (United States) are:
- The technology must be a green chemistry innovation with a significant chemistry component.
- It must include source reduction and have a significant milestone within the past five years.
- The technology must have a significant U.S. component and fit within one of the program’s focus areas.
