BCA African Business Book of the Year Award 2024

The BCA African Business Book of the Year Award 2024 is currently open for submissions. Organized by the Business Council for Africa, in partnership with Brand Communications and African Business magazine, the second edition of this annual competition aims to highlight captivating business narratives from Africa. This prestigious award unites key figures in African publishing and the business sector to acknowledge narratives that are transforming the business panorama. Additionally, it pays tribute to the skilled authors and publishers who play a pivotal role in bringing these stories to the forefront.

Eligibility

Titles, whether in digital or physical format, must be released for the first time in the English language or in English translation between January 1, 2019, and August 31, 2022.
All submissions must be made through the BCA-hosted website at https://bcafrica.org/. The deadline for book entries is January 16, 2023.
Publishers, authors, and agents can submit multiple entries as long as they align with the Award’s objectives.
Anthologies and novels will not be considered. Entrants must be at least 18 years old on January 16, 2023, with no restrictions on the nationality of authors.
By submitting an entry, publishers, authors, and agents agree to the specified terms and conditions, acknowledging that failure to comply may lead to disqualification.
The Award is void where prohibited by local law, and entrants are responsible for ensuring their compliance with local laws and regulations related to the competition.
The Business Council for Africa (BCA), Brand Communications (BC), and African Business magazine (ABM) bear no liability if an entrant violates local laws and/or regulations in connection with the competition, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Benefits

The champions of this esteemed accolade will be revealed during the Awards ceremony scheduled for May 30th, 2024, in London.
The top prize comprises a trophy along with a significant cash reward of $10,000! Furthermore, the runners-up in the second and third positions will receive prizes of $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.
