ARIA: Safeguarded AI – Applications

The UK Advanced Research and Innovation Agency (ARIA) invites applications for its Safeguarded AI programme. This initiative aims to develop AI systems for safety-critical domains like energy and healthcare. ARIA will fund £5.4M in the first phase, selecting around 10 teams. The programme focuses on creating a gatekeeper AI to ensure safe AI operations. Applications close on 2 October 2024, with notifications by 18 November 2024. The programme targets UK-based developers and users.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the ARIA: Safeguarded AI – Applications are:

Applicants must be individuals, entrepreneurs, or organizations (startups, SMEs, large companies, nonprofits) interested in developing AI products.
The majority of the project work must be conducted in the UK, with over 50% of project costs and personnel time based there.
Both product developers and end-users who want to co-create solutions are eligible.
