AI Innovation for Social Impact Workshop

The YSEALI program engages young Southeast Asian leaders, fostering a network that transcends borders to address common challenges. YSEALI focuses on themes like economic growth, sustainable development, education, and civic engagement. In Southeast Asia, Artificial Intelligence (AI) discussions are active, especially after the approval of the ASEAN Guide on AI Governance and Ethics. The YSEALI AI FutureMakers Regional Workshop will unite 60 young leaders from ASEAN countries and Timor Leste. They’ll explore AI’s potential in economic empowerment, civic engagement, education, and environmental sustainability. Through discussions and hands-on activities, participants will learn to harness AI for positive change. The workshop aims to equip them with tools for building inclusive communities throughout Southeast Asia. Follow-on activities, surveys, and culturally enriching components will enhance the experience .

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for AI Innovation for Social Impact Workshop are:

- U.S. public and private educational institutions
- U.S. not-for-profit organizations (including think tanks)
- Foreign public and private educational institutions
- Foreign not-for-profit organizations (including think tanks)
Cost Sharing or Matching:
- Cost sharing is not required.
Other Eligibility Requirements:
- All organizations must have a unique entity identifier (Data Universal Numbering System/DUNS number from Dun & Bradstreet).
- Valid registration on www.SAM.gov is necessary.

Involvement: The U.S. Embassy Bangkok actively participates in workshop development, content, and scheduling. Award recipients collaborate with relevant U.S. embassies for recruitment, selection, and participant communication.
