Seeding The Future Global Food System

The Global Food System Challenge supports innovative projects that create impactful and scalable solutions in the food sector. The program seeks novel ideas, technologies, and approaches that provide significant benefits for people and the environment, particularly in intersecting domains of sustainability, health, and safety. Eligible projects must demonstrate potential for long-term impact and avoid negative effects on the food supply chain. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, academic institutions, research organizations, and early-stage or emerging for-profit companies from any country. Teams of students or researchers may apply through their universities or institutions, and organizations are encouraged to collaborate and form teams. The challenge focuses on innovation and the size of the impact as key criteria for selection.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Seeding The Future Global Food System are:

The project must be innovative and impactful.
It should benefit at least one domain of the Innovation Focus Area without harming others.
Nonprofits, research institutions, and early-stage for-profit companies from any country can apply.
Teams of students or researchers may apply through their universities or institutions.
Organizations can form teams, with one serving as the applicant.
Projects must be scalable and show long-term impact potential.
