Next Health Accelerator

The Next Health Accelerator is currently open for applications, offering a six-month program that includes opportunity assessment, product development, acquisition marketing, network access, and expert mentoring for chosen startups. This accelerator, initiated by Intrepid Entrepreneurs, is dedicated to fostering health innovation in Africa, specifically focusing on sexual and reproductive health and self-care. The program seeks to revolutionize healthcare in the region by selecting and supporting the most promising innovators. Emphasizing regional expansion and integration into existing value chains, Next Health Accelerator provides seed funding and facilitates connections with major corporations or organizations.

The accelerator places a special emphasis on startups with minimum viable products (MVPs) in the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) sector, particularly those addressing self-care. They encourage applications from startups across Africa, evaluating candidates based on criteria such as team strength, founder dedication and passion, potential market size, and the unique value proposition of their product or service. Notably, the inclusion of a female founder or co-founder is a requirement for eligibility.

Eligibility

The Intrepid Entrepreneurs is seeking to back inventive ventures that provide solutions within the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) sector, placing a particular focus on self-care.
Selection criteria will be based on the team’s strength, founders’ dedication and passion, potential market size, and the distinct value proposition of their product or service.

Benefits

Seed Funding: Each startup will be granted up to USD 20,000 in seed funding during the acceleration phase to facilitate the validation of new or improved products and services, contributing to the expansion of their customer base.
Mentoring: Startups will have the opportunity to tap into a network of mentors, coaches, and experts from both international and national backgrounds, encompassing entrepreneurs, health professionals, investors, and organizational executives.
Strategic Support: Assistance in technology, marketing, design, and entrepreneurship will be provided to help startups navigate and overcome their primary challenges.
This includes collaboration with marketers, developers, UI, and UX designers to refine not only the product but also its branding.
Access to Networks: A robust network of value chain partners has been established, ready to adopt and integrate products offered by accelerated startups.
Providing this access as a non-monetary investment is a pivotal aspect of the program.
