Mentorship Program for East African Curators

Apply before: August 15, 2024

ICI, Njabala Foundation, and AWARE are offering a 6-month mentorship for emerging female curators in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The program aims to support these curators by providing resources, enhancing research, and connecting them with established curators. It also raises awareness about gender issues in East Africa. From January to June 2025, each participant will meet their mentor monthly to develop an exhibition proposal and receive feedback. A group meeting will be held in Kampala, Uganda.

Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Mentorship Program for East African Curators are:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The program is open to female cultural workers in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
  • Applicants must have at least 3 years of experience in curating, arts, or artist collaboration.
  • The mentorship will be conducted online.
  • There will be one physical meeting in Kampala, Uganda (date to be announced).
